About Us

Last year nearly 63 million Americans volunteered for various organizations across the country, donating nearly 8 billion hours of their time to worthy causes. The estimated value of this service was $184 billion. Their efforts strengthened communities, met people’s needs, and boosted civic engagement.

The vision of Volunteer Kansas is to move Kansas from number eight to number one in the nation for volunteerism overall. Our mission is to connect more potential volunteers to local organizations that need their help.

We work with organizations in many areas including education, children and families, animal welfare, violence and bullying, poverty, environment, health and fitness, disaster relief, human rights, and more. Helping these organizations find volunteers makes Kansas a better place to live.

Our website offers an online exchange where volunteers can browse opportunities to donate their time to worthy causes. Users are able to search by a keyword or phrase, range of dates, location, or by organization name.

Volunteer Kansas, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Wichita, Kansas, and has an extensive and diverse network of individual, corporate and non-profit contacts, making it uniquely suited to take on our goal of making Kansas the number-one volunteer state.
