|Description:||Special Events and Marketing Intern The National Kidney Foundation Serving Kansas and Western Missouri seeks applicants for an unpaid internship opportunity available Spring/Summer Semester 2017. The intern will work with NKF staff on special events, marketing/PR projects and programming events under the supervision of the Development Coordinator.
The National Kidney Foundation’s office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will work approximately 15 hours per week. May be asked to attend fundraising events and committee meetings outside of business hours.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an institution of higher education. Applicant must be degree seeking. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Photoshop or like software. Strong writing and editing skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Strategic Communication or related field major preferred. Volunteer experience in a nonprofit setting preferred. Some experience with databases.
Job Duties: Assist the Development Staff in special events planning, promotion, and execution. Attend planning committee meetings for Kidney Walks and Gala. Assist with volunteer management / procurement. Create promo materials for various events including Kidney Walks, KEEP Healthy Screenings, etc. Assist Program Manager with NKF signature programs - research, event planning, promotions, data entry.
