The Give Back Challenge

This is an annual eight-week competition, running from April 1st – May 31st , that engages Kansas in employer-supported volunteering, during and outside of the workday.

Research shows the connection between employer engagement, employee wellness, organizational commitment, as well as job satisfaction and retention. It also shows employer supported volunteerism increases profitability and productivity!

There is no cost to participate, and the challenge is open to ANY employer in KANSAS (for profit, nonprofit and government).

Employers may participate as one organization or by location if there are multiple sites. Employers register in advance to participate, and volunteer hours are reported through an online portal by the organization’s self-designated point of contact.

Based on the number of entries received and company sizes, businesses will be divided into three categories (large, medium, and small).

Winners will be selected by determining the average number of volunteer hours per employee completed during the challenge period (total volunteer hours / total employees). The leaderboard will be updated every Wednesday! Companies achieving the highest average in each size category will have a $1,000 donation made on their behalf, by Volunteer Kansas, to the nonprofit of their choice.

REGISTRATION BEGINS FEBRUARY 5th AND ENDS MARCH 22nd.
