The Salvation Army Mission Statement: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Wichita, Kansas is home to three of The Salvation Army's locations, all of which have available volunteer opportunities. The South Central Area Command is located at 350 N Market and is also known as the Downtown Koch Center. The West Orchard Corps is located at 1910 S Everett St and serves the Southwest Wichita community. The Citadel Corps is located at 1739 Elpyco St and serves the South East Wichita community.
