Description:

The Kansas Guardianship Program is recruiting and training interested persons to provide this individualized, legal advocacy. Advocating and protecting the rights of vulnerable adults while encouraging respect, dignity and the interdependence of all Kansans is primary to the goal of the KGP. Responsibilities of a court appointed guardian or conservator: As guardian or conservators, KGP volunteers advocate, monitor, and protect individual rights of the person. They seek to develop a relationship with the person; visit on a regular basis; participate in the planning of supports and services; and make legal decisions with the goal of a higher quality of life for the individual.
