|Role(s):||School Supply Drive Coordinator|
|Description:||PovSolve needs volunteers to coordinate school supply drives for our school that we are building in Africa! If you are willing to coordinate a drive in your community, please contact me before August 31st, 2013!
PovSolve and Project L.O.V.E are building a sustainable primary community school (grades 1-7) in rural Zambia for impoverished children, giving these vulnerable children access to education, teaching income generating skills, providing health care, technology, and more. This school is providing a poverty-struck area with a chance for children to get an education to reach their full potential and give girls the empowerment and equal access to opportunities.
Most kids in Kamatipa and surroundings areas do not have access to primary school education and simply will never get a chance to get educated as they cannot afford uniforms and fees if enrolled at a government school, or manage the distance to travel to one.
We are well on our way to building a school in rural Zambia, and once complete we know the school will be a huge catalyst in providing girls opportunities to rise above inequality and poverty. Project L.O.V.E. and PovSolve aim to build a three-classroom school from the ground up. Each classroom will hold 40 students and we plan to have two rotations of students, in the morning and in the afternoon totaling over 240 kids a day, and thousands in the future. On top of our school facilities and specialized curriculum, we will also provide the following:
Lunch for all students on school days. We realize that constant hunger is a reality for our students so we plan to have our own crops, from which we can cook and serve one meal a day and also sell to generate income.
Clean drinking water. We will also provide access to clean water through a bore hole.
And more. We are working with other organizations that can provide different essentials such as health care, eyeglasses, e-book readers, and a biogas plant for electricity. If you can help in any way, please contact us!
Please contact me if you are interested in coordinating a supply drive in your school, community, or university campus!
