Description:

Advocates work directly with children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. The advocate provides stability for the child in transition for as long as the child remains a ward of the state, i.e. until reintegration with parents, adoption by a 3rd party, or aging out of the system. The advocate is also empowered by the district court to speak to all adults who play a part in the child's life during this time in an effort to provide sound recommendations to the court regarding the best long-term interests of the child. Averages approximately 10 hrs/month.
